Students who wish to spend more time exploring their interests may apply and be admitted to the School of Engineering without a major. They will be able to apply to Sustainable Energy Engineering during the Major Selection Exercise at the end of the first two or three semesters.

Overview
Description

The Sustainable Energy Engineering (SUSEE) program is an interdisciplinary program covering energy generation, delivery, efficiency, conversion and storage, sustainability, and energy policy. It nurtures leading professionals who can design and implement both traditional and renewable energy systems to respond to increasing global environmental and energy needs. 

The program prepares students for careers focused on developing engineering solutions to energy related issues, including energy generation, delivery, conversion, consumption, storage, and management. SUSEE students take courses in multiple engineering disciplines, including building, chemical, civil, electrical, energy, environmental, mechanical, and materials engineering, via programs offered by different departments and divisions. Students have opportunities to practice the principles they have learned in a specially designed SUSEE laboratory course co-offered by four departments, and to participate in research projects, field trips, internships, and industrial training. 

Potential employers of SUSEE students include government departments, local and international engineering industries, consulting firms. Some graduates go on to study in postgraduate programs.
